History  of  the  School

The Saint Christopher Episcopal Institute started as a mission in the suburban areas of Rio Abajo and Parque Lefevre in Panama City, after being the Saint Christopher’s mission and then became the Saint Christopher Episcopal School.

Due to the difficulties of the time, the Saint Christopher Episcopal Church accomplished its Christian commitment based on the vision of offering an institute dedicated to the education of children and older.

With communal, governmental and foreign support, the Saint Christopher Episcopal Institute opened its doors on July 25th, 1965; and one year later the construction of the main building began. The next year the gym was constructed.

The Institute was founded by the Rev. Clarence W. Hayes. He was the rector of the school since 1965 to 1995.

The school started with two teachers, one was called Norma E. Olmos and the other was called Elena Waldron. It should be noted that the school started with only nine students.
